Baal Perazim

So David and his men went up to Baal Perazim, and there he defeated them. He said, “As waters break out, God has broken out against my enemies by my hand.” So that place was called Baal Perazim. 1 Chronicles 14: 11

The Philistines confronted King David leading into his second ‘official’ battle. He was anointed, brave and confident in God. The confidence and anointing navigated David from the farmlands of Bethlehem to the throne of Israel. However, when the Philistines knew that David was anointed as King of Israel, they came against him. It is key to understand that it is when an anointed man or woman is in charge that the enemies are tickled to rage war. The Philistines surrounded and spread across the valley of Rephaim. It is a clear message that rather than coming against the person, it is anointing and source of anointing that the enemies are much worried about.

Although being the King and the first commander of his battalion, he didn’t require any counsel to march on but he chose to seek God’s face and permission. Are you a person who seek God’s counsel in all your affairs? Or do you seek God only in the tough decisions and feel comfortable to make a call on the easy ones yourself? God directed David to go after the Philistines and conquer them, which he did and was successful in Baal Perazim – the Land of breakthrough. Yes, indeed it was a land of breakthrough for David and associates.

The anointing was too powerful and tempting that the Philistines came a second time and this time too David waited upon the Lord and inquired of God. Isn’t this a stark distinction to how we perceive things? David could have assumed that God’s plan would be the same to go after the Philistines. Oh no! God had another strategy – a heavenly strategy! How I wished each and every child of God waited on the Lord for the heavenly strategy to be implemented in his or her lives. God’s strategy here was to be the forerunner and echo a mighty marching sound as a confirmation for David to plunge into action. Of course, victory is assured.

Dear child of God, wait for the anointing so that you can hear and respond to God’s divine strategy. Baal Perazim is deemed to be a place of breakthrough, a place of destruction of your enemies and a place where you leave a legacy.

BE ASSURED – GOD WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU ON YOUR OWN. YOU JUST HAVE TO TAP INTO THE ANOINTING AND MARCH ON TO YOUR BAAL PERAZIM!

JESUS IS LORD!
